Girl Scout Lessons
The sale is over! I have enough supplies to finish up the lessons troops have signed up for already, but no additional supplies for any of the OLD program badges. The exception to that is I am still offering the Juniors Ceramics & Clay badge and the Jewelry badge for Juniors, and the Artistic Crafts and Jeweler IPP for Cadettes, Seniors, & Ambassdors until the end of the school year. These are not discounted badges, as their supplies will be carried into the new badge program. Now the exciting News!!!
I have started to offer two of the new badges, one for Juniors and one for Brownies. I will be offering the Jeweler badge for the Juniors and the Pottery badge for the Brownies. I call these my $5.00 - $6.00 lessons of fun. Each badge is between $5.00 - $6.00 per girl and covers the five steps needed to complete the badge. Below is what will be offered for each of these badges. There is a $40.00 minimum for me to come out to your meeting place to offer these badges. If you have less girls than needed you can invite another troop to share the lesson with you or you can pay the minimum. In addition I always offer pottery lessons to any age group and am happy to give costs on a fun, nonbadge pottery program. Wheel pottery is now offered as an option to groups of 12 or less as part of the nonbadge pottery program - call for costs on this program. For Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassdors please call for programs that they might be interested in; ask me and I will tell you what I have to offer and for what price.
Junior Jeweler Badge In this $6.00 lesson of fun we will cover jewelry tools and supplies, make a chain loop necklace, make clay beads, create a celtic knot bracelet and simple earrings to give away to a friend of relative. All requirements are covered in the workshop and takes approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete. Eliminate one of the four projects and I will lower the cost to $5.00 per girl. Cost of the badge is not included in the lesson price.
Brownie Pottery Badge In this $5.00 lesson Brownie Girl Scouts will do a clay scavenger hunt, see how a potters wheel works (demonstration), make a simple clay pot, create a clay sculpture and glaze an already fired piece of pottery. Each girl will finish three pieces of pottery. All requirements for the badge are covered in the workshop and take approximately 1 hour to complete. All lessons that are more than 15 miles from South Lyon will have the option to pick finished clay projects up in South Lyon or pay a $1.00 per girl mailing fee to have the finished pieces mailed to the troop leaders house. Cost of the badge is not included in the lesson price.
